Use this lotion as you would use hand lotion on yourself. Massage into the affected area until the lotion absorbs. The skin should not be greasy or wet. If the hair is thick or long, trim it close (with scissors... do NOT shave), because the lotion needs to penetrate deeply into the skin to attack whatever is bugging your pet just under the skin and in the hair follicles.
